Happy Mish Mash

The Bunker was the product of a historical moment - a happy mish-mash of musical, political and cultural influences.

And extra-strong lager.

There were moments of genius, but lets not get misty eyed, there were long stretches of drink and drugs induced ineptitude from what were basically a bunch of unemployed, often crap, musicians, guided at times by two or three old hippies.

It was unique; it was fucking great; but it's over.

A new 'Bunker' would, should have a different name, different music, different (or even no) politics and it would be on a completely different site. I'd be happy to give moral support to anyone who wanted to set up a self-run, non-profit organsation for the promotion and support of new bands but I'm not going to pretend that what we had is in any way relevant to what young'uns are doing now.

The baton is there. Who'll pick it up and run with it?
