Playing at Heroes, a nasty little dive on Fawcett Street. Those with a Sunderland accent will no doubt raise a smile if I say it used to be refered to as the Fawcett Street Inn (being a bit of a knocking shop n that), a term of similar origins to that of 'getting off at Gatesheed'.

This is Ozzy on guitar pretending he is in Killng Joke and Kremmin on vocals pretending he is John Lydon. Lets face it, we were all at it. I pretended to be JJ Burnel for fucking years!

Hereos was unique in that it had nicotine stalagtites dripping from the back room ceiling. People used to take shits in the dingy bit at the back and the beer was watered down to fuck. I can remeber getting the burning end of a fag stuck in my eye whilst tripping on magic mushrooms and dancing to New Rose by the Damned. A bit of a bummer seeing as this was one of the only occasions the new romantic DJ lowered himself to play anything of any quality.

The manager once sent some gorillas round to Green Terrace Bunker to burn it down cos everyone was coming to our place instead of his shit hole. Allegedly.

Marty Yule can be seen lurking in the background and on the wall there is an After Warsaw poster, one of Frankie Stubbs bands before settling on Leatherface.
