Singles, reviewed by Dave Irwin. Boldly venturing where no hand ever set foot before.

Zounda (Rough Trade)
‘Dancing’
Unlike most records from Rough Trade and Crass records I could play this to me mam. (v. partial to Adam & the Ants incidently). Very eerie organ, and a great leap forward from Can’t Cheat Karma with it’s almost Pychedelic feel. An anti war song with a difference.

Classix Noveaux (Liberty)
‘Is it a dream’
I wish it was.

‘See those eyes’
Mutch better than the last 2 thigs. They’ve slowed the beat down and its worked. Beautiful; production as per usual from Martin Rushent, giving an almost Joy Division feel to the drums at odss moments. Somehow I don’t feel like vomiting over Claire anymore.

Blue Rhondo A La Turk
‘Klacto Vee Sedstein’
Pulsating dance beat, very memorable intermitant trumpet breaks, excellent drum work and plenty of strange grunts and groans. What more cudya want. Funkin great.
