Are a bunch of cheeky eastenders who perform under the name of Dub Warriors. They played their first gig at S/land Art College in March ’81 with a line up of 7. they’ve now decided on a more conservative 3 plus the occasional guest. Live they’re very unpredictable, and sometimes unintentionally amusing, refreshingly unpolished and under rehearsed. Custom built for anyone with a lust for death they have some unusual ideas about gigs. At a recent S.Y.C.N.D. affair at the poy they wanted to lower Alby on stage from the lighting rig above, needless to say the students union put a stop to that. “we try to make our performances an event not just another gig, we try to make it a show, it’s more memorable” sez Alby. F*cking weirds wot I say. In Feb they recorded 3 songs at Spectro and hope to get them played on local radio. I don’t know when their next gig is if there is one. They say they’re trying to build up a cult following. I’ve told them they’re already a bunch of cults, but you know what pop stars are like….
